- RENWeb is up and running.
- Interviews have been held with prospective new teachers. The next step is to seek approval from the Board.
- Sonja Graber has resigned from GFA.
- Steve Torrano is taking this year off from GFA in pursuit of a recent grant award.
- The 4th of July breakfast made approximately $2,400 this year.
- John Mather did not present his proposal to the Board at the July meeting, but intends to do so in August.
PTF Agenda Items (Byron Sheets)
- GFA would like to offer bus transportation as an option to students in the coming year in order to assist families with conserving on gas. If more students ride the bus, rates could be lower. GFA may offer rates based on the number of bus rides per month. The idea is to have busses pick up/drop off at strategic locations. Please contact Maxene Brown if you are interested in this option.
- A small percentage of PTF Evaluations were turned in. If you haven’t already completed your evaluation, please do so and submit to the Suggestion Box located in the school office.
- GFA Student Registration: The student handbook is being updated and will be ready for distribution at registration on August 23rd. Brenda Butler will also make this document accessible via the GFA Website.
- Mr. Magee is working on a separate handbook for the elementary students and also expects to have it ready for distribution at registration.
- PTF will have an information booth at registration.
- The July Family Work Saturdays were a huge success. A list of work completed is available on GFA’s Website.
- Centennial Campaign Update (Judi Magee): The Centennial Kick-off Dinner is scheduled for Friday, October 12th at the Nampa Civic Center. If anyone has names of individuals to invite to this very important fundraiser event, please contact Judi Magee at the school office. Special invitations to dignitaries are being sent. The intention is for individuals/families to host table rounds for this dinner. Estimated cost per table is $200.
- The 100-year Celebration Committee is working very hard in organizing this event. The committee consists of Jeanie Hetrick, Sharon Needham, Maurice Chandler, Ken Sheldon, JoAnn Behrends and Judi Magee.
- Save the Date announcements for the kick-off dinner were sent in June to approximately 1,500 people with the FAN.
- Work is in progress on the publicity for the 100-year celebration. Many new marketing items are being planned to emphasize the importance of this milestone.
- We are looking for corporate donations.
- September 16th is Academy Sunday. A new DVD of Greenleaf Friends Academy is being produced and will be presented at this event.
- A new color brochure has been produced detailing the 100-years of GFA.
- Suggestions:
- Sharon Needham would like to see a parent business directory compiled. This would help to know what skills and areas of expertise parents possess. Debbie Swanson will include this information in the new volunteer form that will be made available at GFA Registration.
- Pat King suggested the PTF establish a Google Group. This would easily transmit new information via group email.
- Debbie Swanson requested the school directory and school newsletters be reformatted to 8 ½ x 11. Debbie will contact Debbie Johnson about this.
