Fellowship of Christian Athletes at GFA

Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a national organization formed over 50 years ago.  Although its forum is athletic in nature, anyone is welcome.  Its focus is truly Jesus Christ and it seeks to serve athletes and coaches from middle school through the Olympics and professional ranks.

GFA school counselor John Mather first became involved with FCA about 5 years ago and has been so excited about how it has helped change lives, strengthen faith, and bring kids to the Lord. Mr. Mather is the current director of the Nampa Coaches Huddle, which meets monthly with coaches from around the valley for prayer and Bible study. He helped form a huddle group (as the school clubs are called) at Middleton High School and has now brought FCA to Greenleaf.

The Greenleaf Huddle has been going strong and has taken part in numerous activities. 

• We meet every Monday at lunch for lessons and prayer led by the students. 
  
  
• We really encourage 7th and 8th graders to start attending and mix with the high school kids. 
  
  
• We are beginning to organize for our annual athlete devotions with the Little Grizzlies.
  
  
• We participated in the national Fields of Faith at Skyview High School. Over 100 kids listened to student-athletes give their testimonies and joined in prayer at the 50-yard line under the lights.
  
  

God is so good.  If your student-athlete is not involved in FCA, please be an encourager and have them visit with Mr. Mather.
