Dollar-a-Year Fundraiser
The "Dollar-a-Year" fundraiser has far exceeded our hopes. As of 11/7/06, GFA alumni have generously contributed $10,158. Praise the Lord! It's not too late to show your support. If you haven't already, please consider making a gift of $1 for each year since you graduated from GFA!
And take a look at the overall results of your contributions and thank these many donors.
Your financial gifts have been a tremendous blessing to the school. They have funded the following projects:
- New smaller, energy-efficient windows have been installed in the library and west side classrooms to help conserve heating & cooling costs.
- The purchase of new chairs and recovering of older chairs for the two computer labs.
- The old 500-watt-bulb light fixtures in the dining hall have been updated to new fluorescent fixtures. The energy savings are expected to pay for the lights in less than one year.
- A new cement ramp to allow handicap access to the front doors of the school.
A number of projects are still pending and will move forward as the funds become available. These include replacing the lock mechanisms for the security doors for accessing the building, new computer tables for the 2nd computer lab, and replacing the large dining hall windows with the smaller, energy-efficient models (next spring after school is out).
